An Omen

Ayguili and I went on to speak of the Clan. I asked the Ubar what he thought the Clan's role was in the Tribe. His definition of the Haruspex. I was not disappointed by his words to me. For the most part they matched my own. There are a few Clans whose role can be up for interpretation. Different to each person. Other Clans are obvious .. easily defined for their contributions.

Ayguili wanted me to know he was looking for something specific from the Artist when he was questioning her. That he was not discounting her words to him. I am not sure why the Ubar wanted me to know that .. perhaps he saw something in my expression that night. I wanted Ayguili to know he did not have to assure me of anything at all. His ways were his and I was not one to question his methods .. but again ... my thoughts and opinions were my own and there for someone who asked for and valued them.

Ayguili asked for my opinion .. specifically in regards to the artist ... and I gave it to him. I spoke of validation. I spoke of instilling trust and that when people do not know what is in your head .. they will assume ... fill in the blanks. It is my opinion .. and not one that is shared by a lot of the older traditions ... that humiliation is not constructive. Oddly enough even those who believe it to be a good tactic around the Fires in regards to some ... do not believe in it so much when it is used on them. I see no point in it .. for anyone. But again .. that is just an opinion and I more than realize that it is not shared by many.

We also spoke of Mezoo .. and in there somewhere Kaeli showed up to help a bosk with a birth. It turned out to be twins. And it also turns out that one reluctant calf was a white brother. The omen was clear .. even to those that were not of the Haruspex Clan. I am not sure Ayguili appreciated the depth of it .. perhaps a little embarrassed to be so directly connected with such an important occurrence. But Ayguili is Ubar. It is the first of many things that will be sung of him. It is the first of many colored pegs that will mark his life and deeds among the Tuchuk. His name will never be forgotten .. it will sung now in the list of Ubars .. whether or not he makes his own mark aside from just existing as one. However .. I see much more for Ayguili. I see his vision making many marks upon our people. I see this omen as only the beginning. And this is not just my opinion .. for I am a Haruspex.
